1. Evaluate each friendship/relationshp based on its own merit.
  2. Listen to yourself. Trust your intuition about people and things.
  3. You don’t have to be friends with everyone who is nice to you.
  4. Trust your own definition of friendship and stay away from anyone who doesn’t meet it.
  5. There is nothing wrong with having standards. Have them and hold them.
  6. Keep a rainy day fund. Save as much as possible just in case.
  7. Talk to your family and friends when things aren’t gong right.
  8. Ask for help immediately, pride be damned.
  9. Live alone until you get married and then openly communicate your needs.
  10. Keep an active spiritual life. It is necessary to stay connected and grounded.
  11. You matter and people actually value your presence in their lives.
  12. Make goals and plans. You can have a plan and still enjoy life.
  13. Help as many people as you can. It’ll make everyone involved feel good.
  14. Share what you have and know but make no investment in anyone’s reception of what you provide.
  15. Stay self aware. Know your stuff. Own your stuff and change the things you don’t like.
  16. Do NOT stay friends with those who belittle or minimise your passions.
  17. It’s okay, and sometimes necessary, to just walk away.
  18. You don’t need to explain your life choices to anyone.
  19. You don’t owe anyone anything and vice versa.
  20. You’re allowed to say no. You’re not obligated to do  anything you don’t want to do.
  21. Express yourself creatively, whatever that means at whatever point you are in life.
  22. Communicate clearly. Tell people when they hurt or upset you.
  23. Shut up if you don’t know what you’re saying to be absolute truth.
